Lock Envy....Lock Love

Well, Friday will be two weeks since I've had my sisterlocks and I must say that I am very excited about that time. One... I can finally wash my hair. And believe me, I'm looking forward to that. Who wouldn't be? That is except for the guy whose hair I retighten who doesn't wash his hair ever. Yeah... I know that's kind of... well... DISGUSTING! But all of that to say, that after two weeks I'm ready to wash my hair. I'm not looking forward to braiding and banding, but I am looking forward to seeing if they plump up, or slip, or just maintain stability. I guess it's easier to say that I'm just looking forward to everything. LOL. I truly love my locks and love my hair so I'm just waiting for it to manifest into its magnificence!

As I continue to read other blogs and look at pictures of other ladies with Sisterlocks, I've been falling back into the envy stage. I just can not wait until my locks are stable locks. You know..."real" locks. (Pun intended!) I've also been looking at different individuals who have colored their gorgeous locks, and I'm wondering if I'll want to go that route. I mean I've had my hair colored one time in my entire life.

(What do you think?) But honestly, I don't think it went well. The color was absolutely fabulous. However, my hair didn't feel the same and that was just not acceptable to me. So, I'm wondering now if I'll feel the same if I color my locks (once they mature of course). After my unsuccessful coloring, I chopped my hair off and started again. I WILL NOT be doing that with my locks! I know it's early, but any thoughts and ideas?

I know how you feel. I just had my sisterlocks installed on February 22-23rd. I am having a love/hate relationship with my new hair. I love my new locks, however, I am looking forward to the mature "lock-look" that I see on others blogs. Patience, patience.

I know I'm responding late....but...just make sure you get your color done by a loc color specialist. I've read to many horror stories of loose heads and loc'd heads having losing their hair from coloring incorrectly...

Your locs will be locs in no time..

I do like that color though!!!
